Kate Green Hunting Ground Response
Hunting Ground Response - Kate Green
- In order to raise education about this problem, this issue should be taught in all schools. Although some students are willing to educate themselves on their own, many are not. This leads to a society full of people who don’t know what constitutes as rape, and may not even know that they are committing crimes. This combination of ignorance and entitlement leads to horrifying events at the expense of victims. There are countless documentaries and articles chronicling the subject and informing readers about the topic, and they should be watched and read in schools. It is important to make it extremely clear that it is not the victim's fault, and that they deserve support in this very hard time. We want people of all genders to understand these stories without having to live through them. This involves listening to some very hard stories and really feeling what the victims may have felt. We cannot avoid the problem and expect it to go away. We must face it head on with clear education and knowledge for all students, so that they go into college respectfully and safely.
- End Rape on Campus (EROC)
EROC was founded by Annie Clark, as shown in The Hunting Ground movie. It was founded in 2013 in collaboration with students, survivors, and professors. Their key mission is to end sexual violence on college campuses by supporting survivors. They want to prevent through education, as well as changing laws and policies on campuses as well as in the law. The organization's funding comes from donations, and it is a non profit organization. The organization has been portrayed both positively and negatively in the news. The Hunting Ground gave it a lot of attention, but there was backlash against some of the accusations in the movie. They often give comments to news articles and seek to stay involved on current sexual assault cases.
